Are we preparing today’s professionals for the way infrastructure projects will be managed ten years from now?
No standard, law or information system can, on its own, guarantee good governance.
What is needed are professionals who understand the project, the contract, costs, risk, data and the wider public context in which the investment is delivered.
For this reason, the debate on education has been part of the PPP.BG initiative from the very beginning. In 2015, the topics addressed included the training of legal professionals in the field of public-private partnerships and university education in construction project management. By 2018, university education had become a dedicated thematic panel.
Today, the required competencies are expanding.
Legal, economic and engineering knowledge must now be complemented by data literacy, BIM and information management, data standards, digital project management, interdisciplinary risk analysis and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
PPP.BG will promote the development of training programmes, academic and applied research, case studies, methodologies, learning materials and professional communities for knowledge exchange.
